Burchetts Green residents showing their appreciation of key workers during the pandemic.

I hope this message finds you well at this unusual time. I am getting in touch with you, as a valued member of our 'Friends of BCA' scheme, as the College needs a little assistance.

As you likely know, the College campus is not an open access area, however, we have been experiencing a large number of the general public driving onto campus and taking walks around the estate during the lockdown period. Sadly, they are venturing into restricted areas causing a risk to our animals and essential staff who are still working hard on-site during the Covid-19 situation.

There are no bridleways or byways across our land, but we do have the public footpath which runs from Burchetts Green Village, across the campus and eventually over to Hurley. We absolutely welcome conscientious users of the footpath (with a polite request that dogs are kept on a lead for the duration of the section that runs through the estate), after all, we are so fortunate to be in such a picturesque spot, we want the share it. However, so we can distinguish you, our 'friend', from other members of the public, we would please ask if you could please all display your 'Friend of BCA' pass and lanyard at all times whilst on-site. This will enable on-duty staff to easily identify you and will also let them know that you're already aware of the campus rules and regulations.

This is where the favour comes in. I would also like to ask that if you see anyone without a pass walking around the campus, if you feel comfortable to do so, we would be grateful if you would be able to remind them to stick to the public footpath and offer a gentle reminder that the campus is not open to walk around freely. We have included a picture of the RBWM's official map to this message for reference.
If you require a replacement badge or lanyard, or just have some general thoughts or comments, please get in touch.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you greatly for your help, cooperation and continued support at these strange and unprecedented times and I hope you are still managing to enjoy our beautiful campus in this gorgeous weather for your daily exercise time.

Best wishes,

Claire Conroy
Director of Safety & Support Services

Friends of BCA – permitted routes

Since 2013 BCA have enabled local residents to use additional routes across the college estate.
This updated map identifies in orange the routes which pass holders are permitted to use. In exchange for the access, we ask that all walkers adhere to the countryside code, keep to the identified routes and carry the Friends of BCA pass which has been issued.

From time to time some of the permitted routes may be temporarily out of bounds to allow grazing and for college activities. Please be aware that if the archery area is in use a flag will be up and signs erected to warn users that the adjacent south drive is out of bounds.
